Description:
United Way of Miami-Dade's Center for Excellence in Early Education is looking for a dedicated teacher who is committed to early childhood development and education, to share their talents with a diverse group of children and families in its state-of-the art facility. Within this safe and nurturing environment, encourage the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of the children. In collaboration with the Demonstration School director and the lead teacher, design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum according to the guidelines and key elements established by UWMD and NAEYC. The incumbent would also be expected to
- demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect towards persons of different cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds;
- communicate daily through conferences, events, and meetings and share resources with parents;
- schedule and develop plans and conduct home visits in collaboration with the Family Support staff and engage parents in ongoing communication about their child's development screenings and assessments appropriate for an infant/toddler class.
- take lead in guiding the team through the development of classroom goals and action plans, ensuring that daily responsibilities are complete and jobs are shared.
Requirements:
EDUCATION: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in early childhood education, child development, elementary education or early childhood special education, that encompasses child development and learning abilities of children birth through kindergarten; family and community relationships; observing, documenting and assessing young children. Bilingual preferred.
TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS: Beginning Internet Explorer, Excel, Outlook; Intermediate Word.
