Our story
Our mission
To foster participation, commitment and growth of philanthropic-focused young professionals in furthering United Way’s mission of advancing the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all.
Our members
Young Leaders are contributors, ages 40 and under, giving at the leadership level of $1,000 or more annually. They depict the mosaic of our community—across professional disciplines, economic situations, and ethnicities. Since its inception in 1993, with two volunteer chairs and a diverse volunteer committee, the group has grown steadily and today, has over 1,500 members representing a broad cross-section of Miami-Dade’s industries. And the list of members continues to grow.
Our community focus
United Way of Miami-Dade’s Community Plan - a strategic approach to delivering measurable results in three key areas: Education, Financial Stability and Health—the basic building blocks for a good life. Our goal is to create long-lasting changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place. Everyone deserves opportunities to have a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family, and good health.
