Tocqueville Society
United Way of Miami-Dade established the Tocqueville Society in 1991 to honor those individuals who demonstrated an extraordinary sense of philanthropy with remarkably high levels of giving. Tocqueville Society was named in celebration of the vision of French historian Alexis de Tocqueville, who was recognized as a symbol of the true spirit of volunteerism that lives in America’s heart.
Members of our Tocqueville Society give $10,000 or more annually. Currently, we have 662 Tocqueville members that contribute approximately $20 million; 87 of those individuals are Million Dollar Roundtable members. Ten of our Million Dollar Roundtable members are part of the Five Million Dollar Roundtable.
