We specialize in bringing people together to reach out in the event of a disaster, whether through donations of time, money or goods.

Volunteer
Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) - training for residents who are interested in helping their neighborhood prepare for a disaster and provide assistance afterward 

Hands On Miami - United Way's partner in volunteerism, Hands On Miami offers disaster volunteer training and placement 

Florida Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters - Brings together the voluntary organizations active in disaster services, community groups and government agencies to foster more effective response in times of disaster.

Donate money
Following a disaster, the best way to get help to those who need it - fast - is to donate money that agencies working in the affected areas can distribute.
 
Operation Helping Hands (OHH) - click to donate when OHH is active (following a disaster). OHH is a partnership between United Way of Miami-Dade, The Miami Herald/el Nuevo Herald and other media partners. To make a credit card donation directed to a particular location, please call (305) 646-7061. For more information, call the OHH hotline at 1-800-226-3320.
